08/08/2007 - 08/09/2007

This exhibition is constituted of seven large paintings, created in 1991-1992, oil on canvas, representing the Seven Deadly Sins, through scenes portraying Vanity, Luxury, Sloth, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, and Envy. All paintings have a phrase taken from Hieronymus Bosh written across them – Be ware, God Watches – Bosh is a Dutch painter and engraver, of the 15th and 16th centuries, known for his depiction of human temptations and transgressions .

Dora Longo Bahia also presents a book of drawings and paintings on paper, of 1990 / 1999, bound in leather with gold engraving.

These large dark paintings shown in Galeria Leme´s sober architecture, with its high ceiling and concrete walls with the light coming from above, help to create the same environment of adoration, contemplation, and reflection found in Gothic Churches

This show is held in collaboration with Galeria Luisa Strina.
