Galeria Leme presents a solo exhibition by Tiago Sant’Ana for ArtRio 2023. With works created specifically for this occasion, the artist presents paintings that approach an investigation bridging the practice of portraiture with snippets of everyday scenes. Focusing on figuration, Sant’Ana has stood out by proposing an aesthetic intersection between a pictorial language inspired by established techniques and discussions about identities from the African diaspora. The booth is composed of a large-scale painting – occupying the entire back wall – and other smaller format paintings, a size often explored by the artist.
