Group Exhibition

The exhibition “Initiated: Contemporary Ancestralities” highlights a powerful cross-section of contemporary Bahian art from the last fifteen years, including the renowned artist Tiago Sant’Ana. Exploring themes of Afro-Brazilian identity and culture, Sant’Ana and his colleagues have participated in important national and international shows, receiving critical recognition and becoming part of prestigious collections. Their works, the result of intense dedication, reflect the richness of Bahia’s artistic production. Although representative, the exhibition does not exhaust the totality of local “initiates,” but opens dialogues about ancestrality and contemporaneity in Bahian art.
