At this point, the artist finds that it\u2019s possible to imagine many new alternatives for those old objects. Like in an asymmetric puzzle, various combinations seem to be possible, but, in the end, the final result appears according to a simple, subtle and spontaneous logic. \r\n\r\nMilton Marques\u2019 machines don\u2019t produce elements that create an unreasonable dependence of man on machine. They search for new possibilities that show a more intuitive relationship between them and are determined to maintain an interaction between languages inside a completely experimental dynamic.\r\n\r\nFor his exhibition at Galeria Leme, Milton Marques will present a diverse range of works of art. \u201cAuto-Reverso\u201d is a video camera that captures abstract images and \u201cUntitled\u201d is a metallic box that measures reality and illusion. Both were realized in 2007. Among the new pieces are a video that shows the flight of a mechanical beetle in the style of a Discovery Channel documentary and a crystal ball onto which black-and-white images are projected, creating a contrast between mysticism and hyper-realism.\r\n\r\nWords and images \u2013 video projections, magnetic resonance and shadows \u2013 always have a special place in Milton Marques\u2019 pieces, which he describes as hybrid and useless beings that hold subtle nuances of the ironic side of living a life surrounded by technology.\r\n\r\nMilton Marques was born in Bras\u00edlia, Brazil, in 1971.
