Is more than richness, it represents a place of possibilities and utopia. In the words of Voltaire, in Candide, this mythical place \"was cultivated as much for pleasure as for necessity. On all sides the useful was also the beautiful.\" There were seeking not only fortune but also \"honors, things and glories of the world,\" says Sergio Buarque de Holanda, in Vis\u00e3o do Paraiso. \r\n\r\nEldorado, the unattainable city, is the starting point for Parra\u2019s solo exhibition at Galeria Leme. More than the legend, here inquiring the idealization of the world, the invention of images of happiness and the hidden impossibility in \"Sparkles of desire.\" The artist, who took part of the group 2000e8, presents a new series of oil paintings, a neon sculpture and an installation in the central part of the gallery. Her works explores the utopia and its relation with need? and desire. \r\n\r\n\r\nAbout the artist \r\n\r\nRegina Parra (S\u00e3o Paulo, 1981) lives and works in S\u00e3o Paulo. \r\n\r\nShe took part of the group 2000e8 and this year she was awarded with I Pr\u00eamio Ateli\u00ea Aberto Videobrasil. She was selected for some major programs for young artists, such as Temporada de Projetos do Pa\u00e7o das Artes, where she presented a solo show in 2009, and Programa de Exposi\u00e7\u00f5es do Centro Cultural S\u00e3o Paulo  - where she will display a new work in video in November 2011.\r\n\r\nHeld solo exhibitions at Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Joaquim Nabuco, Recife(2010) and  Project Room Galeria Leme, S\u00e3o Paulo (2009) . Participated in selected group shows such as A Carta da Jamaica, Rio de Janeiro (2010), Feij\u00e3o com Arroz , Miami, USA (2010), \u00c0 Sombra do Futuro, S\u00e3o Paulo (2010),  Paralela, S\u00e3o Paulo (2010) and 2000e8, S\u00e3o Paulo (2008). \r\n\r\nGraduated in Fine Arts at FAAP, Regina is studying a Masters in Visual Arts at Faculdade Santa Marcelina, supervised by Lisette Lagnado.
