She holds a BA in Fine Art from Middlesex University and an MA in Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, where she later worked as a researcher in the Painting Department between 2019 and 2020. Her work explores the language of painting and its endless possibilities as a metaphor for life and lived experience. The artist uses composition, line, color, form, mark-making, texture, and process as structuring elements in her abstract investigation.<\/p>\r\n

Drawing from a subconscious alphabet of references and forms linked to landscape and nature, and carrying relationships of composition and color, these images are accessed intuitively and become the initial material for investigation. However, it is through process that painting takes center stage: in dialogue with the nature of the materials, the work begins to respond to gestures, decisions, and accidents, asserting its own internal logic. The result of these actions is a return to the starting point, in which the initial reference to nature reappears as accumulated energy\u2014of the artist, the materials, and the process itself. Her recent research emphasizes expanded painting and painting-as-object, challenging the limits of the two-dimensional plane and accentuating the work\u2019s physical presence.<\/p>","description":"

Studio KIND. is run by Richard Gregory and Laura Porter.\r\n\r\nGabriela Giroletti is a Brazilian-born painter living and working in London. Through her impasto painting style, Gabriela is developing a unique symbolic glossary, characterised by the constant tension between the pictorial and human presence - the imagined and the material. She holds a BA in Fine Art from Middlesex University and an MA in Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, where she later worked as a researcher in the Painting Department between 2019 and 2020. Her work explores the language of painting and its endless possibilities as a metaphor for life and lived experience. The artist uses composition, line, color, form, mark-making, texture, and process as structuring elements in her abstract investigation.<\/p>\r\n

Drawing from a subconscious alphabet of references and forms linked to landscape and nature, and carrying relationships of composition and color, these images are accessed intuitively and become the initial material for investigation. However, it is through process that painting takes center stage: in dialogue with the nature of the materials, the work begins to respond to gestures, decisions, and accidents, asserting its own internal logic. The result of these actions is a return to the starting point, in which the initial reference to nature reappears as accumulated energy\u2014of the artist, the materials, and the process itself.
