Galeria Leme

Galeria Leme is moving to a new address. It will remain faithful to its identity, maintaining the unique architectonic style developed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha who collaborated with Metro Arquitetos.

The new gallery is a reimagining of the original design; with an additional area for exhibitions, a bigger collection and a central courtyard.

To commemorate the move, Galeria Leme invited several artists who participated in the moving process to exhibit pieces related to this period of the gallery’s transition.

It will be an ‘exhibition in progress’. Some works inspired by the construction process of the new gallery and some by the destruction of the old. These pieces will be showcased from the 4th of January to the 15th of February, 2012 as a way to reinterpret this singular experience of transposing space.
